Neuro Linguistic Programming

This rather daunting title describes how allof us construct - in our minds - the world we live in.

Neuro - refers to the way in which we use our sensory systems to percieve the outside world and to shape how we respond to it.

Linguistic - refers to the way we communicate our understanding of the world by the language we use to describe it.

Programming - referes to our tendancy to react in the same wya time after time. NLP is a way of exploring the ways in which our mind, body, emotions and behaviour interact to create our own unique model of the world.

To give a simple example: A man sees a spider (N). The sight triggers off anintense feeling of horror because, as he describes, "spiders are terrifying" (L). He "always feels this way" when he see spiders (P). On the other hand, another person may just see a little, harmless spider. A third person may not even notice it at all.

How we perceive the world and what it means to us is unique to each one of us. If we can understand the ways in which we see and judge our world we can learn how to change our reactions to it.

NLP used in conjunction with Cognitive Hypnotherapy is a highly effective tool for going directly to the source of the problem and changing your life.
